Nano Brow Case Study : Asian Skin Type
In today’s case study, we are featuring the talented PMU artist Tiffany Chen, who specializes in Nano Brows and teaches this technique. She is the owner of Brow Beauté and has various PMU online courses.
Tiffany shares with us how she was able to create natural and beautiful results for her Fitzpatrick 4 client with dark brown hair. Fitzpatrick 4 clients often have a bit of a thicker skin and cool/neutral undertones.
Consult:
My gorgeous client has a very even skin complexion and thin dark brown eyebrow hairs. very light skin tone with beautiful hazel eyes and silky straight strawberry blonde hair. She informed me that she has a combination skin type and her skin is not super sensitive.
My client wants a super natural result, where it looks like real eyebrow hairs and would like to create a bit more symmetry in the density of her hair growth.
She has soft thin hairs throughout her brows but her front hairs are a bit uneven. Helping her groom a bit of her hairs to create a more defined arch was the first step to elevating her natural shape.
Nano brows is the ideal technique for her since she just wants a subtle fullness to her current brows and she doesn’t like the fill-in look too much. Also, her youthful skin and great complexion will be a great palate for excellent healed results.
Brow Mapping:
Some of her hair growth was not symmetrical so I was just trying to get the shape even at first. Once we agreed on the shape by working together, I would do the pre-draw of the first pass strokes.
I used a black wax pencil to brow map and complete the pre-draw and a red pen to dot the outline of the key points so I don’t lose sight of it.
Colour Choice:
For Asian skin types, I like using the brand - PMU Pigment. Here, I used 50/50 Chocolate Brown and Medium Brown and I mask with orange once I finished the whole procedure. This pigment line heals pretty ashy, so masking with the orange colour is critical. Even though it heals more on the ashy side, the ashiness works for Asian skin types with dark hair.
Technique:
Nano Brows is the ideal technique to just add subtle fullness throughout her brows. The hair strokes will heal super soft and subtle to give her a very natural enhancement.
Immediately After:
Healed Before Touch-Up:
As you can see, the lines healed super soft and shrunk a bit. At the touch-up, we can elongate some lines. I will focus on elongating the front strokes because they healed a bit short. Because the colour looks great and soft, we will stick to the same colour as her initial appointment.
Immediately After Touch-Up:
All touched-up and her brows will last 1-3 years before she needs to come in for another touch-up! So beautiful and natural looking! Do you you agree?
